There are many famous basketball arenas, and each one is famous for a unique reason. An arena is not only famous for the basketball matches that take place there but also because of many other activities that are held there. It is also about the atmosphere, the seating space and the food quality. In this basketball scoreboards article, I have reviewed the top 4 famous basketball arenas in the NBA – the ones that have all these things and more.
1. The Madison Square Garden
One of the most famous basketball arenas is the MSG. It is home to the New York Knicks in NBA and the New York Rangers in the NHL, and is owned by the cable provider, Cablevision that owns the Knicks and the Rangers as well. It is located in Manhattan and is the busiest arena in the city with events happening every other day. Events like basketball matches, concerts, circus, award ceremonies etc have been hosted by this great arena. The seating capacity at the Madison Square Garden varies from event to event, but for a basketball game the basketball scoreboards show that the arena can accommodate 19,763 people.
2. Conseco Fieldhouse
Another famous basketball arena is the home stadium of the Indiana Pacers, Conseco Fieldhouse. The one and only retro basketball stadium is one of a kind and the fans simply love watching games live in the arena. It is a multi-purpose arena i.e. it does not only hold basketball matches but also hockey matches, indoor concerts and other college games are played there. The seating space in this arena smaller than in some other arenas, 18,165 people, but the fans love this place because of its ambiance.

Air Canada center is commonly known as the Hangar, and is the home arena to the Toronto Raptors. It is known as the hangar because of its sponsor i.e. Air Canada. Located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Air Canada Center has hosted many basketball games, WWE matches, concerts and many other events. The group that owns the Toronto Raptors, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd also owns this arena. The seating capacity is different for different events and games, however 19,800 people can be accommodated in a basketball game.
4. AmericanAirlines Arena
The AmericanAirlines Arena is located in Miami, Florida and is home to the Miami Heat. Apart from hosting basketball games, the arena is known for hosting other events, such as concerts, stage shows etc which are held at the Florida’s largest theatre housed in this arena, Waterfront Theatre. The AmericanAirlines Arena is known for its unique scoreboard that changes its color according to the atmosphere. The maximum seating capacity for this arena is 20,021 people.
